Maja is an illustrator that specializes in retro Scandinavian fairytale and folk tale inspired riso prints, and children’s book illustrations for early readers.

Maja graduated with a BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. She began her career at Hallmark Cards in the illustration department illustrating greeting cards, Wonderfold pop-up cards, and memory keeping books as well as her illustrations being licensed for the international market. Maja is currently represented by the Bright Agency. She has illustrated books for Harper Collins/Clarion, Dorling Kindersley, Tamun Books, and BH Kids., and designed a puzzle and Scratchboard set for Djeco toys and games.Maja has also had her illustrations licensed to Museums & Galleries. Maja has collaborated with the design team for Ronald McDonald House to create mural and donor artwork to align with the needs of the hospital and respite areas, at Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, as well as the Ronald McDonald House in Hong Kong. Maja and her husband Tom Patrick share a collaborative Etsy shop, Four Eyes Illustration which has been selected as an Etsy Picks, hand selected by Etsy’s style experts to highlight for quality, reliability and style. Maja and Tom sell primarily riso prints, and also mugs, tea towels and block-print tote bags in limited editions.
